Hooke's Law Lab.

Objective.

Determine the k (stiffness) of the spring.

Procedure.

Measure the original height of the spring (with no weights). Add weights one at a time and determine the height with each amount of weight. Find the displacement by computing the change in height for each weight. Determine the force at each point by multiplying the mass added and gravity (F=ma=mg). Graph Force v Displacement. The slope will be k (F=-kx k=F/x).

Results.

k = 110.12 N/m
